PFU NAV 701 – Mentor Navigator Certification

Mentor Navigator Certification

NAV 701 — Mentor Navigator Certification prepares qualified Christian Mentors to serve as personal navigators for students enrolled in Prestige Family Office University courses and certification programs.

The course is built around the image of the SS Prestige Family Office University, a mission-driven educational vessel launched to help Christian family business owners, their rising generations, and their trusted advisors travel toward greater readiness, stewardship, governance, leadership, succession, and multigenerational impact.

In this course, the Mentor is presented as the student’s Navigator. The Mentor does not captain the ship, replace the instructor, act as the student’s professional advisor, or make decisions for the student or family. Instead, the Mentor helps the student stay on course, understand the voyage, complete the lessons, reflect on the material, and connect PFU education to real-life stewardship responsibilities.

NAV 701 is especially designed for retired and semi-retired Christian business owners, executives, advisors, teachers, coaches, consultants, ministry leaders, and professionals who want to use their experience in service to Christian families and students.

NAV 701 Ten-Lesson Course Outline

Lesson 1 — Welcome Aboard: The Mission of PFU and the Mentor’s Calling

Introduces PFU as a biblically based educational mission and explains the SS Prestige Family Office University analogy. Students are passengers on a voyage. Mentors are navigators. The voyage is toward readiness, stewardship, governance, leadership, and multigenerational impact.

Lesson 2 — The Mentor as Navigator, Not Captain

Clarifies the Mentor’s proper role. The Mentor guides, encourages, asks questions, and helps students stay on course. The Mentor does not take control of the student’s decisions or provide unauthorized professional advice.

Lesson 3 — Understanding the PFU Student

Helps Mentors understand the students they may serve: family business owners, rising-generation members, advisors, spouses, successors, and future family office leaders.

Lesson 4 — Readiness, Preparation, and Motivation

Explains the PFU readiness concept. A family may recognize a need but still lack motivation to act. Mentors must learn to listen for both readiness gaps and motivation levels.

Lesson 5 — The Four PFU Schools and the Educational Voyage

Gives Mentors an overview of the four major PFU schools and how each school contributes to the student’s development.

Lesson 6 — Conducting Effective Mentor Conversations

Provides practical training for Zoom-based mentor meetings, student check-ins, small group sessions, and encouragement calls.

Lesson 7 — Encouragement, Accountability, and Completion

Teaches Mentors how to help students maintain momentum through course completion without becoming controlling or overly directive.

Lesson 8 — Confidentiality, Ethics, and Professional Boundaries

Establishes ethical standards for Mentors, including confidentiality, role boundaries, conflicts of interest, student privacy, and avoiding inappropriate solicitation.

Lesson 9 — Mentors, Ambassadors, Advisors, and the PFU Community

Explains how Mentors fit within the broader PFU ecosystem, including Ambassadors, advisors, subject matter experts, webinars, workshops, conferences, and future community development.

Lesson 10 — Certification, Deployment, and Ongoing Mentor Development

Prepares Mentors for approval, assignment, continuing education, student matching, reporting, and future participation in PFU programs.
